Purpose of the Workshop:

The two workshops (one in York, and one in Manchester) will explore the gig-economy work experience.

Dates: Monday 16th March (Manchester) and Tuesday 17th March (York). 10:00-16:00.

You are being asked to participate in one. During these workshops, we will have discussions regarding current working conditions and how those might change in the future. It is our hope that these conversations will allow us to co-generate together some conceptual (i.e. not yet possible) technologies that begin to imagine new possibilities in the future of the gig-economy.

You will be paid £72 for participating in a workshop, alongside the lunch and refreshments that are provided on the day. We are able to reimburse unto £10 per person for travel expenses incurred to and from the workshop.

Pre-Workshop Activities:

As a means of facilitating the workshop discussions, we would like to know more about your current working experience.

For this, we would like your help gathering photos, sketches, screenshots, timelines, notes and other materials about your work, ahead of the workshop, to give us a better understanding of your experience. More details will be provided by email, but in short, we will provide some materials to help with these activites, and instructions to guide and inspire this collection. To return the materials to us, you will also receive a pre-paid envelope and a secure digital link to help ensure that they arrive before the workshop itself.
